Better Anti-aging

Tips For Getting Better As You Get Older

Anti-Aging Skin Care Products
These days, there are anti-aging skin care products on every pharmacy and supermarket shelf. These products promise to minimize wrinkling while restoring youthful luster to the skin. Not all of them do what they claim, but one thing is for sure - aging skin does need special attention.

As you age, your skin does not produce sufficient oils, which dries it out. Dryer skin can look flaky and dull causing it to seem “aged”. To combat this be sure to exfoliate once a week. This will clear off the dead skin cells and expose the fresh new cells underneath giving your face a more youthful glow. Hormonal imbalances can also cause acne. If the cause can be isolated, this problem can be solved by medication and traditional acne treatments.

Another thing to add to your anti-aging skin care product regime is some sort of cream to help moisturize your skin. You can go with a natural cream, an herbal cream, or one that is made from artificial or synthetic ingredients.

Skin creams that are made from natural and organic ingredients and herbs are preferred by many because they don’t have harsh chemicals that are toxic to the skin. If you do hit the drug store for an anti-aging cream, use a skin care product that has at least 10% glycolic acid in it. Glycolic acid, which is derived from sugar cane, has been shown to remove the build up of dead skin cells and make your skin look younger and smoother. Anything under 10%, however, does not seem to be effective. If you want a really effective product, you’ll have to go to the dermatologist and get either a cream with more glycolic acid or with retin A or renova.

Stop more wrinkles from happening via a few lifestyle changes. Most importantly - don’t smoke! Smoking is just as bad for your skin as it is for the rest of you. It causes all kinds of wrinkles and also deprives your skin of oxygen giving it a dull appearance. The good news is that after you quit - your skin appearance will improve in as little as 2 months!

Also, avoid drinking too much alcohol, as this can dry out your skin. Drink plenty of water which hydrate your skin. Especially good is filtered water, which takes out many of the impurities.

Of course, overexposure to the sun causes skin damage that leads to wrinkles. So be careful to wear a good sunscreen and think about a wide brimmed hat when you go outside.

Getting enough sleep is important for skin care too! Sleeping gives skin the time it needs to repair itself and keep face and body looking refreshed. You might want to switch to sleeping on your back since all those years of smooshing your face into a pillow can train wrinkles right into your skin!

Ultimately, the best skin care regime consists of using anti-aging skin care products coupled with lifestyleschanges.
